GENRES AND THEIR FILM OPENINGS


Action 

  • Typically action films begin with a intense, high energy sequence to grab the viewer's attention. Openings with explosive chase, life threatening situation or a dramatic fight could easily pull the audience into the realm of danger. 
  • Action movies have these types of openings to create tension and excitement, aslo to set the stage for what's upcoming in the movie.
       Characteristics:
  • Fast paced editing 
  • Action or thrilling stunt sequence
  • Crisis situation
  • A dangerous antagonist
  • Jump cuts
  • Parallel editing
  • Slow motions
  • Climatic build up

  Romance
  • Majority of the times romantic films open with a moment that reflects the emotional tone of the film, like a romantic event,intoduction to the protagonist's love life or a sense of romantic yearning.
  • Romance films have film openings like these to establish emotional stakes at an early stage and make audience invested in the characters love life.
       Characteristics:
  • Romantic bitter sweet moments
  • Themes of destiny, loneliness or hope in love
  • Soft warm cinematography

Horror
  • Usually horror movies start with a eire calm creating a suspenseful atmosphere or a traumatic violent scene like a murder. opening scene might start with a ordinary setting slowly being overtaken by something sinister.
  • The purpose foe having such opening scenes is to create sense of anticipation or dread luring audience into a fake sense of clam before revealing actual horror

Comedy
  • Often opens with a absurd or humorous scene,Setting up a quirky situation. These openings are specifically designed to make the audience laugh  either by using a witty dialogue, awkward situation or physical comedy. 
  • such openings ensure that the films tone is lighthearted and entertaining from the very first scene. comedies want to immediately set viewers for ease and laugh.

Fantasy 
  • Starts with grand magical event or a detailed world building sequence which transports the viewers into a fantasy world. opening might include introduction to mythical creatures, magic land or prophecy.
  • These openings set the stage for a journey or a quest.

  • Mystical creatures
  • Sense of awe or wonder
  • Unexplained phenomena 
  • Central hero
  • Smooth transitions

Each genre has its own specific type of opening to set the stage for what's about to come,being able to draw viewers in with specific tones, visuals and storytelling technique's . these openings are designed according to give the audience what they want and to immerse them form the very first scene.

seytan     Seytan is a haunting film that delves into the hidden world of black magic, revealing a social issue often overlooked in media. It follows a young girl who rises for Fajr prayer, only to sense an unsettling presence around her. As strange, eerie events unfold, she’s pulled into a terrifying ritual led by five women consumed by malice and envy.
