THE HIDDEN MESSAGE

OUR FIRST PROJECT TOGETHER  This was the very first project we did together as a team for our media studies class. Me, Hamna Sheraz and Neha Qamar planned this clip and prepared a script as a team and then divided duties to make it easier to execute.I handled all the camera work,Hamna handled all the editing and Neha was our Actor then later our team sat and talked about the changes required and what could be done to make it better.   PROP LIST Me and my team had a meeting today and collaboratively made a detailed prop list for our upcoming short film. we carefully analyzed our Script and identified key scenes and the props required for those scenes. We had a lot of fun communicating ideas and researching for props that were both visually compelling and right for our story's location and time period. HOW WE INTERPRET MEDIA: Hypodermic Needle & Reception Theory

  Hypodermic Needle Theory  Also known as Magic Bullet Theory  which emerged in 1930s when media had considerable influence over public opinions. This theory suggests that  media messages are "injected" into the viewers brains influencing their beliefs and behaviours. Hypodermic Needle Theory assumes that audience are passive and are very easily manipulated.  CRITICISM:  The theory got criticism over how it oversimplified the relationship between audience and media and how it fails to account for the active role of an individuals play in interpreting media messages based on their personal opinions. Reception Theory Reception theory was developed by Stuart Hall during the 1970s. This theory suggests that audience actively interpret the media messages based on their own personal, social and cultural contexts.
